Fees & Insurance
Insurance
I am a private-pay psychologist. Paying out of pocket keeps decisions about your care between the two of us rather than with an insurance company, and lets me provide the best care I can. Each month I give you a superbill (an itemized receipt with everything your insurer needs), which you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Many plans reimburse 50 to 80% of the fee once your out-of-network deductible is met, so it is worth a call to your insurer before we begin. For more information on out-of-network care, see below.
I do remain in-network with a small number of insurance panels; contact me directly to discuss your situation.
Fees
| Service | Length | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Phone consultation | 15 minutes | Free |
| Initial evaluation | 60 minutes | $250 |
| Individual therapy session | 50 minutes | $250 |
Payment is due at the time of session by credit card, HSA/FSA card, or bank transfer. Sessions canceled with less than 48 hours' notice are charged the full fee.
Using out-of-network benefits
- Call the member number on your insurance card and ask: "Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health? What is my out-of-network deductible, and what percentage do you reimburse?"
- Pay the session fee directly. At the start of each month I send you a superbill on request.
- Submit the superbill through your insurer's member portal. Reimbursement comes directly to you.
