My Approach
People often enter therapy when an old way of living no longer seems to work. A marriage may be changing, a career may have lost its meaning, or a familiar sense of self may no longer feel sustainable. Others arrive carrying anxiety, depression, or an older story that keeps intruding on the present. Whatever it is, my job is to help you understand it, honestly and in full context: your history, your relationships, your culture, your values, and your family.
I was trained in the psychodynamic tradition, which means I believe the past is never entirely past, and in contemplative practice, which means I also believe you can learn to sit in the same room with it. I bring in attachment theory, existential thought, and mindfulness tools you can use between sessions.
Identity is not a side topic in my office. I have particular experience with women's lives, LGBTQ+ clients, racial and cultural identity, Jewish identity, and spiritual questions, including the ones that end in doubt.

Common Questions
Do you take insurance?
I am primarily a private-pay practice, which means that my clients pay at the time of session and I provide a monthly superbill, upon request, for out-of-network reimbursement where applicable. Being a private pay practice allows me to keep decisions about your care between the two of us and lets me provide the best possible care for my clients.
I do remain in-network with a small number of insurance panels; contact me directly to discuss your situation.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
I keep a small number of reduced-fee spots for clients with financial need.
Do we meet by video or in person?
By secure video, anywhere in Massachusetts.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. Psychotherapy is a qualified medical expense.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes, with the standard legal exceptions: risk of serious harm to yourself or others, abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order. If you pay privately and prefer that nothing be filed with your insurer, no diagnosis or record leaves my office.
